ruthWhen I arrived at Corrina’s workshop, I knew I had a fantastic idea with huge potential. I also felt utterly incapable of succeeding – and Body Gossip totally relied on me and my confidence to pull it off. I was convinced that I would eventually fail.

This workshop made me realise that the biggest thing holding me back was my perception of failure as inevitable. I was almost striving towards failure because it seemed like the safest option. The workshop was great; although there were eight of us there, we all came out with a diagnosis specific to us. I knew that I had to strive towards succeeding, and to stop expecting and almost hoping for failure. In practical terms, this new outlook made me pick up the phone and cold-call celebrities’ agents with every hope of success, rather than the expectation of failure. I started to look at what connections I did have and how Body Gossip could succeed with what was right in front of me.

My first ever Body Gossip performance took place on 29th March 09, less than a year after my workshop with Corrina! I had a celebrity cast including Natalie Cassidy, Shobna Gulati, Nikki Grahame, Anne Diamond, Cerrie Burnell from CBeebies and Donna-Leigh Bailey from Doctors. The next one is on 10th May 2009 and so many people want to meet me and talk about the future success of Body Gossip. I can confidently say that Body Gossip looks set to be bigger than I ever imagined – bigger than me, bigger than the idea I had, bigger than the success I dreamed of back when failure seemed dangerously real.

Really wonderful way of tackling fear of failure, low self-esteem and negativity. I’m inspired!

Very interesting, liberating and empowering.

Excellent pace. Original, challenging and inspiring. Great job.

This was very helpful in thinking about how to reconceptualise my starting point in dealing with failure. Thanks.

Good workshop to get like-minded people together and know that other people feel this way.

I feel that I am more at ease with failing than I was before.
